First Baptist Women's Ministry

The purpose of the Women's Ministry is to assist women in becoming fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Through a wide variety of activities, such as Bible Studies, Luncheons, The Prayer Shawl and Blessing Bag Ministry and other service projects, women are encouraged, and provided an opportunity to grow in their faith, cultivate friendships, deepen their prayer life, and serve and support one another and the community. Some service projects are detailed below. Watch this webpage for updates and news of upcoming events and Bible Studies.

Fall Kick-Off Luncheon
August 5, 2017
11:30am in Fellowship Hall

The Fall Kick-Off Luncheon will be held August 5 in Fellowship Hall with Gaye Martin as the guest speaker. Gaye and her husband, Phil, live in Summerfield, FL. They have 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren!

Gaye is a management consultant and popular speaker. She speaks to Christian Women’s Clubs nationwide and has been featured on Focus on the Family radio. She is also a pilot and with humor and wisdom compares our life to an airplane flight and God to our traffic controller. He’s always on duty, guiding us each step of the way. Gaye will challenge you to fly high, pray hard, learn to recognize the Controller’s voice and “Don’t stifle the urge to lift-off!”

The luncheon will be catered and the cost is $10. Beginning July 16 and continuing through July 30, you may make your reservation on Sundays (July 16, 23, and 30) at The Welcome Center. Last day to register is Sunday, July 30.

The Luncheon will be a great time of fellowship with other ladies and we'll be sharing lots of great information about Fall Bible Studies, our Fall Retreat, and lots of other exciting activities coming up.

Lake Yale Baptist Women's Conference

2017 Lake Yale Baptist Women’s Conference Friday and Saturday, October 6 - 7.

The 2017 Lake Yale Women's Conference is scheduled for October 6-7 and the Women's Ministry will be attending as a group. The event offers not only the opportunity for spiritual enrichment, but the chance to experience a great weekend of fellowship with other Christian women. The Women's Retreat Team has made plans to attend dinner and the seminar on Friday night and activities, including lunch, dinner and seminars on Saturday.

This year's conference features Sheila Walsh. Sheila is a powerful Bible teacher and best-selling author from Scotland with over 5 million books sold. Her international ministry has reach more than 5.5 million women by combining honesty, vulnerability, and humor with transforming power of God's Word.

Cost and Transportation:
The Lake Yale Baptist Conference Center is in Leesburg, just a short drive from The Villages. Transportation will be by carpool. A carpool will leave the church Friday at ~4:15 and return after the evening session. Saturday morning a carpool will leave the church at 7:30am and return after the evening session. Anyone living in the southernmost neighborhoods of The Villages may want to organize a carpool leaving from a location near their home rather than driving north to the church.

The cost to attend is $125 for both Friday and Saturday.

Beginning August 20, you may register by visiting The Welcome Center on Sunday morning.  Registration closes on Sunday, September 17.

Shoebox Packing at Atlanta OCC Warehouse
Millions of shoeboxes are collected across the country during National Collection Week in November. Before these gifts can be shipped to children around the world, volunteers will carefully inspect and make sure the boxes are ready for overseas passage. FBC will send a team of volunteers. If you would like to be a part of that team, please contact LuAnn Schiff at 217.898.4031. The exact date the FBC Team will serve has not been determined but it will be in late November or early December.

Belleview Christian Academy
Library Project

Belleview Christian Academy
Library Project

Belleview Christian Academy is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Belleview and its ministry is to teach students a biblical world view through God-centered curriculum under the guidance of skilled, devoted and consecrated teachers who demonstrate and, therefore influence, students to live by biblical standards.

Belleview Christian Academy students will acquire a biblical world view evident by faith in Jesus Christ and the standards by which they live.

The FBC Women's Ministry is assisting the Academy with starting a library at the school. They have already assisted with the need for shelving and are now beginning the process of collecting books to go on the shelves.

To begin the library, they need quality reading books and current books the children can use to research and write papers - books on rocks, animals, and history as well as biographies. Books should be suitable for grades 1 through 8. Contact Shari Kumler if you have books to donate or would like to assist with the project.
